You could get a local repair man to silver solder a small ring to your existing thumbrest. Should be simple and cheap.
That way the thumbrest can be easily refitted with no problems of drilling new screw holes.

Silver/hard solder being the operative word - soft (tin/lead or antimony) solder won't be strong enough. The nickel plate will discolour with the heat of hard soldering (it has t be heated until it's glowing orange) but it can be polished shiny again. Silver plate will be damaged by the intense heat.

Also most cor anglais thumbrests should go straight onto most clarinets, but some may need the holes redrilled if they don't line up.

Evette/B&H Regent II/early B12 clarinet thumbrest screws are positioned pretty close together, so an aftermarket thumbrest will need new screw holes drilled into the body and the existing ones filled in if need be.

I have fitted Fox oboe thumb rests (with rings) to my R13 clarinets. There was some very minor rework required - the oboe body has a smaller body than the clarinet so the mounting "wings" needed to be flattened out to better fit the clarinet body. I didn't need to redrill any mounting holes on my R13s, but Chris seems to indicate that your clarinets may be different.

These are my standard replacement thumbrest when someone comes to me wanting an adjustable. They can be supplied with either a straphook ring (shown) or with a flat tightening knob.

Jupiter thumb rests are very good for the price. I don't like their overly large thumb rest screws though.
