Does anyone have the limited edition bass clarinet in "A"?

I had a D series Selmer A bass (and an A basset clarinet) back in the '80s as it was being sold for next to nothing - I think Vincent Bach International (the UK main Selmer importer back then) just wanted shot of it instead of it being sat there for aeons only collecting dust in their stockroom.

Nice fat Selmer tone, but the tuning was all over the place. Same with their basset clarinets and basset horns as not a lot of research and development goes into rare beasts made by large companies when they aren't likely to be big sellers.

I know of another one, again a D series, only that one has had a lot of remedial work done to it to make it play better in tune. I sold mine for more than I paid for it.

The opinions I express are my own.
