 Yamaha CSG III cork?
Author: Loucas Vasilarakos

I've been playing on a set of Yamaha CSG IIIs for a few months now. No matter how often I grease the cork, after a few hours of playing the barrel and body joints are almost impossible to remove. Any tips/solutions?

It's the wood that's expanded causing the joints to bind and not the cork, so don't touch the cork or anything else and get it to your repairer pronto to have them skim the tenon rings down just enough to make them fit perfectly so they neither bind nor rock. This is normal and now humidity levels are rising, you're only going to experience this more frequently.

Chris is dead on the money. This may occur with any model.

Had the same issue, contacted Yamaha explained, that this is expected for new instruments as barrell is shorter. But this is slowly getting better from a daily usage.
