3D Wood is a hybrid material. The wood particles have a polymer binding agent that allows the material to melt as it passes through the hotend. This is also why the material is not susceptible to cracking. Therefore, you get the warmer and fuller sound quality without cracks or a break-in period. The bronze metal I use follows the same principle, although metal filaments understandably have approximately twice the density of the other filaments, making metal rings a welcome addition to some of my newer models.
