I just watched it. Skiano is a wonderful player, with gorgeous tone, perfect technique and elegant phrasing. For me, this was step above even the best of the earlier modern instrument recordings (Marcellus, Wlach), with more personality and "direction" in phrasing.
I still prefer an extended instrument (Fröst) and a period instrument (Coppola), but this was as good as it could possibly be on the modern instrument.
