The Vintage plays like an original R13 from the 1950s or early 60s. I tried one when the model came out and had an intense recollection of how my first R13, from 1960, played. For me, those clarinets had an intimate connection with my breath, with a very "personal" sound.
They had intonation problems that were corrected in the 1970s, and my current instruments date from the mid 70s. They are very good, particularly for orchestral work, but I still miss my 1960, which alas was spoiled by a well-known but incompetent repairman.
You owe it to yourself to try a Vintage to find out whether it suits your way of blowing, and whether you can play it in tune.
