 "The Real Thing"

Hi everyone. What follows is just a little story that I wanted to share.

Yesterday, I took two missionaries from my church out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. They were both around 19 years old. Anyway, I asked them if either of them played a musical instrument. One of them quickly responded with "I do". It turn out that he played the trumpet. What followed still blows me away. He forgot the name of the fellow "who had all those teeth" and I told him that was Louis Armstrong (Satchmo) but he was very knowledgeable about John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, and Wynton Marsalis. And, remember now, he's only 19 yrs old!

I started talking to him about how synthesizers can duplicate every instrument and his response was so incredible. He told me: "Yeah, but there is nothing like listening to the real thing."

Amen!

Awesome! Sounds like some jam sessions or some trips to live music need to happen!
