 E-flat technique feedback?
Author: bsabal

Not sure if this post is allowed, so apologies if I'm wasting your time. Just got back into playing an E-flat and need some technique advice. Took video of me playing the Ravel Bolero solo. Looking for feedback on intonation (or whatever you'd like to say about the sample). Have a minute to spare and feel like weighing in?

Video is on my channel at https://youtu.be/qy1yefi5qzo

Thanks board!

Barb

Throat tones sound a bit sharp compared to the clarion notes - your barrel looks like it's all the way in. Try pulling the barrel to tune your open G, and see how that affects your tuning overall.

Also, when you're alternating between B & C#, you can keep the B finger down for a smoother transition.
