Has anyone tried the new Buffet Icon mouthpiece that comes in two versions? Also has anyone tried the new ligature from Buffet?

All I know is the tip openings are very open and slightly bright sounding. Very French sounding.

Bob: No clarinet manufacturer has ever produced a half-way decent clarinet mouthpiece. Maybe one exception: the Leblanc 4L mouthpiece. It wasn't so bad-as good as, let's say a Vandoren B45. I wonder if there are still any around. We tried to make a mouthpiece-a wooden one- and all of ours went straight into the very bottom of the garbage can or were used for fire wood;

I played one. The rep couldn't confirm, but it looks like a schreiber product. Plastic, not hard rubber, but, like the bass mouthpieces, a well made piece. Very easy to play and responsive. I would guess that the people who like similar plastic mouthpieces will like this one.

Over the years Selmer mouthpieces have often been popular and well regarded.

Weiner Music now advertizes these ICON mouthpieces. They say the ICONS are made of rubber, not plastic. Now, I'm really am curious.
