 Dramatic performance of Nielsen Concerto

Ollie Leppaniemi, who won the 2009 Carl Nielson Competition, where he also received a special prize for "the best interpretation of Carl Nielsen" does a breath taking performance of the Nielsen Concerto on this YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nielsen+clarinet+concerto+Leppaneimi.

Silken legato, blazing technique, rounded altissimo, immensly rapid articulation that remains even, smooth and unobtrusive, and a staying power that brings out all the drama and shifting eccentricity of moods in the music are just a few of the virtues Leppaniemi displays in this performance. I wish this were available on CD.

Ollie's Clarinets were stolen on the train TO the Competition also. So he won it on a borrowed Clarinet!!!
