Now getting a sound. In fact a whole scale and song. Still a bit stiff but sounds good. I guess it IS just some study then trial, error, and persistence. Was not really all that difficult and only a few minutes at a time to scrape, sand, examine, try. Using a utility knife blade and some 240 and 600 grit sandpaper.
