My friend has a metal Penzel Mueller Brillante Bb clarinet. Anyone ever heard or seen one of these. Seems very rare. Any info will be appreciated.

You might want to check with forum member Jim Lande to see if he has any thoughts on the subject. The e-mail address he lists on his forum account is: lande_family@verizon.net

He knows a lot about various metal clarinets.

I have several P-M metal clarinets at home, as yet unrestored, don't know if they're labeled as "Brilliante" models, but they certainly weren't rare when I bought them five or ten years ago.

My experience with P-M clarinets (mostly wood but a couple of metals) has been that they're generally very good, but not great. Decent intermediate-level instruments.
