 click barrels

I recently tried a click barrel for my Selmer 10s and I felt that it enhanced the sound considerably, particularly round the break. I had to return the barrel to the owner and then tried to buy one without any success. I would be very grateful to hear of anyone who has a secondhand one to sell or who knows where I might get one.

From time to time I have seen them show up on eBay or for sale in various forums. They are no longer made. There are other adjustable barrels out there if that is what you need.

Hi Ed, Thanks for that. I will keep a weather eye open on ebay as I would like to locate one.

Thanks for this info guys. However they are not the same as actual click barrels.
I have a Berkeley Freedom Barrel and it is good for tuning but does not enhance the sound as the click barrel I borrowed did.
The ones advertised are not an actual click mechanism as far as I can see but you turn them round to tune.
I am still looking for a secondhand click barrel.

Amazing how individual these things can be. When I tried the click barrel years ago I did not like the sound at all! Good luck in your search.

Hi Ed, Thanks for that. I think it must depend partly on the instrument itself. Maybe they suit some instruments and not others.
