More Bundy mis-information

In another thread I mentioned that Music & Arts bought or is leasing the Bundy name (or so I've been told) new Bundy Instruments do not have a Selmer logo- old ones do. Music & Arts is owned by Guitar Center which also owns Musicians Friend and Woodwind Brasswind and some other outlets. I took this quote from one of their sites. It calls Bundy a company and tries to connect their new Chinese junk to the original Bundy clarinet. Notice that there is no mention of Selmer.

I should add that not all instruments from China are junk - but having repaired Bundy clarinets, bass clarinets, flutes and saxophones, I definitely do not recommend them.

I'm glad you point this out. I (being an old person) am familiar with the playing characteristics of the Bundys from the past. Friends of mine playing Bundys back in the 70's sounded great.

I recently taught at a music store that sold older used Bundys and I found them to be a great value for their price range (in good shape and/or restored) of around $400 on average.

I have not played a new Bundy and cannot speak to the quality of them or lack thereof. If, however, it is a poor new configuration merely trying to take advantage of the reputation of an entirely different horn that sort of marketing chicanery is not unique.
