It's a good mouthpiece. One of many, many, many others available.

If I had to pick a closed mouthpiece from Vandoren it would be the M15. I prefer a more open mouthpiece now and love the B40 13.

Yeah I like the M15. It's a great all around mouthpiece. I had a student that got the most amazing sound on hers.

If a player likes closed mouthpieces from Vandoren I would start with the M13 Lyre and the M15. Both are wonderful mouthpieces. The M15 is the most popular mouthpiece here at USF and at many other studios it remains a go-to model for that kind of mouthpiece.

fernie51296 I played 2 years on B40, and its too open for me, and my taste. I prefer focused (stiff) tone, because I like German style of clarinet playing. Thank you for advice.

I recently tried a M13 Profile 88. I liked it's projection, but it was too edgy for me. If I changed my embouchure to dampen the reed I got a nice sound out of it. Just trying it out I was not able to get as rich a sound out of it as my Gennusa Excellente GE. The M13, at least compared to my Gennusa, was a bit unstable. I tended to squeak, but that's because it's not what I was used to. The M13 has a bit of a convex or flat baffle toward the tip, falling away and becoming more concave about half way down, and I think that's what I didn't like.
