Hi everyone,
I have a strange issue that's cropped up over the last few weeks and is getting worse, which is a problem because I have a 3 day studio session starting friday.
My 1 and 1 fingering for b-flat and low e-flat is incredibly sharp on my A clarinet, far more than it used to be and it's getting worse. All pads seem to be sealing and I really can't understand what could be causing this.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be happening?

Do you mean the pads all seal when you play 1+1, or when you test the upper and lower joints for suction with all holes closed?

1+1 fingering for E-flat4 is unusably sharp on all clarinets. I seriously doubt that it ever was in tune on yours.
Interestingly, it seems to be OK on most bass clarinets.

Does turning the middle joint/bridge make any difference? Maybe the bridge key between joints has gotten out of alignment??

I agree with John, you must have some bridge mechanism issue (for the first ledger above staff Bb).
And no, the first line Eb does NOT work with the one-and-one fingering!

My experience has always been that if the Bb one and one is in tune but the Eb is always flat so this is strange, especially if it changed. Try leaving a little space between the two major joints and see if that helps without effecting anything else. PS. I never us the Eb 1/1 unless it's a very fast tremolo, never had a need in my long career.
