Every year my husband and I host a Holiday Music Party at our house. We invite our musician friends to come and play for an "appreciative" audience of our non-musician friends.
This is really great fun. It gives our friends a chance to perform in a friendly setting, and it provides a little "lite culture" for our other friends.
This year my husband had just finished working on an old upright piano he calls "Bobbie Pin" (because of all the bobby pins he found inside while cleaning her up.) He decided to move the piano to our outside porch and decorate it for Christmas. At the end of our party, we all huddled outside around Bobbie Pin and sang Christmas Carols.
The season just doesn't get any better than this.
