For about a month I have been playing on a mouthpiece that I sent to Brad Behn for refacing. The mouthpiece was a studio series Backun MET model. When I got the mouthpiece I first noticed that the tip rail was uneven, it was shorter on the left and got thicker towards the right side. The mouthpiece played OK, but was a bit slow with articulation. I think because of the tip rail.
I decided to send it to Mr. Behn. I told him I wanted easier articulation and more presents in the sound. I wanted a mouthpiece with power and vibrance that would be suitable for an orchestral setting... Well that's exactly what I got. The mouthpiece is very vibrant with a wonderful tone. Everything is even and it articulates great. And even though he closed the tip opening by by .08mm he made it play perfectly with my preferred reeds.
Thank you Mr. Behn
