Try placing the clarinet alongside a Bb clarinet - if it is an A it will be about 1 1/2 to 2" longer than the Bb.
This will still be roughly difference even if this as a high pitch model and there is also very little difference in length between the Boehm and simple system models.

Unfortunately, I do not have a Bb clarinet to compare. The length of this clarinet pictured is 24 1/2 inches w/out the mouthpiece.

How accurate is the measurement? That's a bit short for A clarinets I measured but maybe it's a high pitch A clarinet and/or has an unusually short bell? Some designs can be a little longer or shorter overall too. It's unlikely to be a Bb clarinet at that length but maybe it's part Bb part A (probably very unlikely but who knows)...

A 1922 Buffet A is 25", a 1903 A is 26 3/8" with low Eb. Both are LP

Yes a 1963 Buffet Low Pitch Bb measures 23 3/8" so it's definitely an A but quite possibly High Pitch. Only sure test is to play it.
