Attachment: 258Woodwinds(great program activities for school k (1k)
I started playing in chamber group this year and we've given three really nice concerts so far. We're all happy as clams with our little group and want to continue playing and performing together, so we're starting to think about repertoire and how to put together programs for targeted audiences, such as school programs, senior centers, churches, festivals, etc.
For schools, I found this wonderful program by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's WWQ, complete with classroom guide and activities. I wouldn't think of copying it, but I might use some of its ideas: (see attachment). We also have Peter and the Wolf we'll be working on.
For senior centers, I'd love to find music from the 40-50s, or big band, or dance tunes. Something peppy they've heard before.
I'd love to hear your ideas for woodwind quintet (and WWQ + piano) programs.
P.S. It doesn't look like my uploaded worked, so here is the (long) link to the PDF I mentioned above:

Bill Holcombe has arranged a number of 'standards' and show tunes for WW5.
