How much should I spend on a 38 year old A-clarinet (Leblanc L27)?

So I've been meaning to purchase an A clarinet for a while and have been test playing this particular instrument for a couple of months. Despite its age the L27 has quite nice characteristics. Its in remarkably good condition, is well in tune and produces a big warm sound (that might be A-clarinets in general though). Some of the keys may be a little out of alignment so I guess it'll need a service. Serial number is 46836.

Anyway, I'm probably in the position to negotiate a little on the price of the instrument. What do you think would be a fair amount to spend on an instrument of this age (in good condition)? I'm under the impression that the seller wants $600 USD - does that seem about right?
Thanks.

I don't know how UK and USA markets compare but in UK $600 is approx £400 and I think that would be a pretty reasonable price for a good condition L27.
Age is not as important as overall condition. I still regularly play my 55 year old LLs with ser no 14xxx.

In my opinion if you want a clarinet for test something buy a decent clarinet the Price starts 200€ with ABS clarinet.
Generically a clarinet price (professional) is 1000-2000 and is hard Find clarinet with high quality and new 500€ but you could find used.

I think $600 is a good price for an L27 A clarinet - it wouldn't have had anywhere as much playing as an equivalent Bb so it shouldn't need too much doing to put it into top form.
