The ligature (DSC05283.JPG) may be worth more than the clarinet. It's an early Selmer Magnitone http://forum.saxontheweb.net/showthread.php?141556-FS-FT-Cheap-Selmer-Magnitone-Bay-Buffet-amp-Berg-Larsen-Lig, which expands to fit the mouthpiece and the reed. Despite its description as "cheap," it often sells for $75-$100, and one was offered (but didn't sell) at $700 http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=360440&t=360328. I tried one belonging to my teacher and didn't like it. It was clumsy and didn't hold the reed on tight. But that doesn't affect its value.

Other than the CB above the emblem, and the 176 missing, your clarinet is exactly like my 176, even the case is the same. Perhaps the CB was the initials of a special order.
