I recently heard an excellent performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s Concertpiece No. 2 in D minor played by Robert Dilutis and Christopher Nichols at University of Delaware Clarinet Day. Having heard it live, the piece is now a new favorite of mine. Rather than listen to Youtube videos again, it's time to add the recording to my collection.

Are there recommendations for which recording to purchase?

Leopold Vlach and Franz Bartosek (on basset horn) is my favorite, but it may be long out of print.

You might be interested to listening to the one I have on my website with Morales and me playing with me playing the bassest horn part on bass clarinet in a live performance. Just for your interest because of the way I arranged it for clarinet and bass. Check it out if you can listen to the recordings on my site.

I was actually asking about the 2nd Concertpiece, but very much enjoyed your recording of the first one. Do you often arrange basset parts for bass? I see you've recorded a number of cello pieces on bass.
