Got a protec double case but it doesn't fit my horns. My CSGII's have a 10mm longer upper joints and a low E/F mechanism that need to be accommodated for. Who the heck do I bring the case to to make modifications?

Does Protec make a case specifically for the Yamahas? Seems like you'd be better off finding something that's made for the instrument. Modifying is going to make the case expensive. I know someone in Norristown, PA, Ed Golaszewski (who is a very fine reed doubler) who works on cases, and he probably could do it, but it seems like returning it and shopping around for something made for your clarinets might be worth doing. I don't know if he could do the work without having the clarinets to measure.

Is the inner tray of the case made from hard polystyrene or is it soft but dense foam?
If it's made from polystyrene, then that can be compressed fairly easily to accommodate the extra mechanism. Use a handle of a wooden spoon or a table knife to push the polystyrene into shape. If the fabric lining is taut and preventing that, then you'll have to cut the lining and then glue a piece of fabric on afterwards to hide the exposed polystyrene (so you don't get bits of it everywhere in the case).
Soft (but dense) foam should conform to the extra mechanism, but it will over time apply undue pressure, so best removing the fabric lining then trimming away the required amount of foam to accommodate the keywork, then glue the fabric lining back down again, pushing it into the newly formed recesses with the handle of a wooden spoon, table knife, etc.

Just to clarify, your firm goal is to make the Protec case work, or is substituting another brand/model of case within the realm of your consideration at this time?

I wanted to make the protec work. It doesn't look like Protec has a german version of the case I could use.

It seems that they have German single cases but not a double case.
