It looks sorta like a Gao Cohler barrel. The mouthpiece is the new Vandroen Black Diamond. Here's a link to it: http://www.atelierdecelia.com/boquilla-clarinete-sib-vandoren-black-diamond-bd5-tradicional-p-1-50-2477/ Funny enough, there's no mention of it on Vandy's website. I THINK they had some prototypes available to try at ICA in August, but I didn't have the time to check em out.

Martin Frost was a Rico artist before, he is now a Vandoren artist, but i think he would be able to play beautiful with an ice cream stick on his mouthpiece, i would like to know how long time he spends working on reeds, i bet he just plays them straight and make them work.
He is supertalented!!!

I thought that being supertalented gives one, first of all, the freedom
of being just Artist, not "Rico artist" or "Vandoren artist".

*off topic music question*
He mentions his flute/sax player friend, whats the correlation there? This seems to be a relatively common combo that doesn't make sense on the surface can someone explain.

In the world of "woodwind doubling," saxophony and flute playing pretty much go hand in hand. You'd be hard pressed to find a Broadway show (that features any reasonable compliment of musicians) where you didn't have flute, clarinet and a couple of sax parts per book (usually labeled "Reed 1," Reed 2," etc.).
