Are their any exercises to improve the strength in the lower lip and to keep my chin flat (aside from just waiting for it to settle in by itself)? I can keep it up for about a second or so and then I start to lose it.

Keep in mind the "flat chin" is the RESULT of making the lower lip thin, and flat against your lower teeth. "Flat chin" is not the intended end result, just the consequence.
Also, you need to engage the cheek muscles (buccinators) to bring the "corners" of the mouth down and in.
The final ingredient is to engage the upper lip muscles, drawing downward (keep upper lip area firm) more as you move up in register and as you move up in volume.

I am kind of kidding here, but you need to strengthen your exasperation muscles by being exasperated several times each hour.

At the risk of being too brief in the moment I have: a double-lip embouchure can be helpful with this, at least as a working method. It will take some time for the upper lip to toughen up, but it's still a worthwhile pursuit for several reasons, and much has been written about it in other threads.
I agree with Paul's points as well. The upper lip is often a neglected aspect.

make sure you are not dropping your lower jaw down too much and have to compensate for it by pulling lower lip up

Thank you all for the advice. I had indeed heard of using a double-lip embouchure, though I had kind of forgot about working on it. I will definitiely check out what my upper lip is doing and see if I can make it work a little more.

it isn't as much about double-lip as not forgetting to pull upper leap down.
Think about making frown face/pulling corners down
