Ricardo Morales and John Moses play Legere reeds full time.
I like the original design and do all my practicing on one, but prefer a good cane reed to at least the original design.
Does anyone know which model Legere they use for performances?

As far as mouthpieces are concerned, I've read that JJM uses Clark Fobes products. With Legeres, what is most important is that the facing be even--as opposed to older "crooked" styles--the rails be average to thick and the facing be close. I'm having more success with Legere Sigs since I started playing a Walter Grabner K11* mouthpiece, and even better results from some older Forestones , which I still prefer for my serious gigs. However, I intend to keep trying harder Legeres and if one of them "sings like a angel", I'll start using *it* full time. My attitude, 'whatever works is good'.

On soprano, I only tried the Signature reeds, and 4.25 works very well for me. I tried a few mouthpieces and with Legere I felt very satisfied with a B40 Lyre.
I started with strengths 3.5 and 3.25 which made me realize that the potential is there but some experimentation is needed. I good cane reed may sound better, to me, but I asked people for their opinion of the differences in sound and was told that it is very, very subtle.
On Bass Clarinet I tried both Classic cut and Signature and I prefer the Signature by a very wide margin. But I do wish they'd come at strength greater than 3.
I occasionally play an Alto Sax and there as well I greatly prefer the Signature line.
Everything I wrote means little if you like cane better in terms of sound and response. There is a difference to cane, but I like it. It doesn't matter if someone else likes them, even if the other person is a prominent clarinetist. Every person is different and you need to feel they work for you.
The fact that they are consistent (not 100%, i did get a defective 3.75 which was returned) means that the logistical advantage warrants a thorough investigation, at less in my opinion.
