 V. Kohlert keys needed
Author: James Gray

I have just received a 1930's vintage V. Kohlert from a client to restore. It has beautiful silver (not nickel plated) key work. Unfortunately the lower joint bridge was broken off the Bb key and missing. Does anyone out there have an inexpensive donor instrument or possible the lower joint ring assy. from one to sell?

Thanks for reading.

RH ring key is one of the most critical when it comes to design tolerances - I would think it highly unlikely that a donor instrument part - unless from an EXACT model and vintage of same make - would fit.

It should not be too difficult for a competent tech to fabricate (either from scratch or from another instriuments parts) a replacement bridge part and silver solder to your broken key.
If cosmetics important then it would need replating.
