The critic in this case was a 60 year old woman with a high powered rifle. The performer was an 11 year old boy playing a clarinet. He was doing his homework. She threatened him and his friends.
The child was trying to do what was expected of him, and the adults were only concerned about their comfort. Grandma didn't want the baby to wake-up, and the neighbor didn't want to hear a fledgling clarinetist. What should the child do? Especially when the neighbor is shouldering a weapon and yelling, "Fire in the hole!"
Perhaps some of you didn't understand the situation because of the moderators editing of the original post. What, as a teacher, would you advise your students?
