I was trying out a bunch of old reeds the other day. I have a few plasticover reeds. They were surprisingly good. Like many off brand reeds I suspect the softer reeds vibrate and sound pretty good but as you go to a harder strength the tone quality is problematic, so keep to the softer strengths.
