What is the difference between these two mouthpieces?

They have a different beak (angle of taper). The profile 88 is supposed to facilitate putting more mouthpiece in the mouth.

Or the other way to look at it is that you don't have to open your jaw as much for the same amount of mouthpiece that you would take in for a given facing length.

What I did was, I tried a traditional, liked it, and then ordered the profile by mistake. I don't think the adjustment is that crucial though. Thanks to both of you. That was helpful.
