Hi again,
Peter Stoll from Toronto, Canada here...I'll be presenting a session about how using a sequential set of teaching repertoire can enhance a student's creativity and imagination...it's based on the just-published set of clarinet repertoire, study, excerpt and technique books, and the examination syllabus from the Music Development Program (Royal Conservatory of Music examinations in Canada).
For those who haven't yet heard of this, it's a fabulous new set of pieces for clarinet and piano (with a few for clarinet alone) and studies in sequential grades, that cover a wide variety of styles of music, and gradually increase in length and difficulty. For anyone curious, the publisher, Frederick Harris Music, will have a booth at the Fest's Exhibition Hall. This follows on from the huge success of their 2010 Flute series.
The session will be 9:30-10am in the Black Box Theatre at LSU, I'll primarily be playing examples of the music, with pointers as to how this can help guide and expand a student's sense of musical creativity. Everything from Baroque to Klezmer, even a moment where the student is shown how to 'musically' squeak!...hope to see some of you there!

Is the material available now from the publisher or after the Fest? I couldn't see a link on their on-line store.

Hi Zenia,
The books and syllabus are in the warehouse now, it's going to take a while to get the website updated though! But if you contact Frederick Harris, they can tell you if they're ready to ship, or when they will be, but it won't be long if at all...thanks for the interest!
