 Help Identify a selmer Clarinet

I got this selmer And he got a strange logo (I have Add an image) i had never seen.

The Only Info i could find was from clarinet perfection site:
http://www.clarinetperfection.com/clsnSelmerParis.htm
**************************************************
Selmer Paris clarinets in various years through the 1980s had markings similar to "Sole Agents, US & Can Selmer New York - Elkhart". Clarinets with markings similar to these can be identified as clarinets exported to the United States. European and Canadian Selmer clarinets had no markings.
**************************************************
Is it a selmer paris?

The logo says:
SELMER
Elkhart-New York

The SN# is 7940

dose anyone know what it is?
Any help could be great :-)

Unless it says Paris or France, then it isn't French.

The extra "Sole Agents, US & Can Selmer New York - Elkhart" info stamped on the bells of some Selmers was done from well before the '80s as there are Centered Tones and others before them with that on the bell - if anything, they had ceased adding that by the early '80s.

The opinions I express are my own.

after some searching i found a guy that has the same clarinet. with the SN# in the same range

http://test.woodwind.org/oboe/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=393292&t=393292

but i guess they didn't get to a conclusion about it. i guess it is very old or very rare.. well we will see how it plays after the overhaul :-)

Thanks allot for the info!

Looks like a Selmer USA Signet to me. More photos possibly?

I have one with the same logo. After researching everything I could find, my best guess is that it is Selmer USA but before Signet. It does not match the markings of any of the early Signets.

I agree that mine, too, does play very nicely. My best guess is that it was produced by Selmer US before Geo Bundy returned to France.
