However you ship or carry it- or even if you weren't moving- you need to have replacement value insurance on it. That could be on a relatively inexpensive "personal articles floater" or perhaps listed under a homeowner or renter policy. Check with your agent. That way you're not in the position of getting reimbursed 50 cents per pound or some such nonsense if it disappeared in the move.
