Hello,
I'm looking for a suitable quality secondary mouthpiece to m Vandoren contrabass clarinet mouthpiece. One mouthpiece I'm considering is the Fobes Debut, but unfortunately I cannot find a review for one. I am wondering if anybody has tried this mouthpiece out and if so please post your general opinion. This mouthpiece would just be for occasional playing and not really for performance.

I have one for my metal Leblanc Contra Alto. It works. :-)
Difficult to compare to a "regular" Debut as it is a wee bit bigger (you get quite a mouthful), but if there's a "budget" piece that is worth buying, then this one.
Too bad there's no BBb "Nova" mouthpiece, I love my Bass version very much.

I have not played one, but-
Clark makes great products and has extensive experience playing the low clarinets.
It makes me think it would be worth a shot.

When I arrived at University of Delaware last fall, we very much needed a good quality setup for our contrabass clarinet. However, the Selmer and Vandoren options were far too expensive. After some research, I found the Fobes Debut. We purchased one and every student that has used this setup has been impressed with the response, good intonation and enjoyed playing the instrument. We have had success pairing it with a Legere 3.0 or 3.25 and a Rovner ligature. Our ensemble directors have been pleased with the result as well. Regarding our instrument, it is a Leblanc paper clip that was overhauled last spring by Hammer Woodwinds.
