 Synthetic pad material

Hello all,
Recently I've been trying out zheng hao clarinet pads mainly due to their low cost so far I've been satisfied with the results. But the one thing I'm not happy about is that I have to order them from China and wait a month for them to arrive. I figure that since the pads are simply made of foam that they could easily be made from a foam sheet. However after searching for a while I have not been able to find a type of foam that would work well for clarinet pads. The only thing I found that works okay is neoprene, however it still feels too soft and it only comes in black. Does anybody know of a suitable material to make synthetic pads out of and if so where can it be purchased?
Thank you in advance!

I've used EVA foam with good success.

I consider Valentino Greenback pads to be inexpensive. Especially compared to the value of my time.
