Because of an obscure bug where the # stops the URL checker from completing. I changed the link to a shortened one so it would work.

Of course it needed the percussion to put it over the top :-)

Simply marvelous playing. A very musical conductor and sensitive players to back it up. This is slowly becoming my favorite orchestra. Our local NPR station is playing more and more from this orchestra's recordings. Each time I hear one the shear musicality makes me stand up and take notice. WONDERFUL!!!

Nice, round and mellow sound from the Eb clarinet. Fine tuning and ensemble playing.

What set-up is the Eb player using to help get such a broad, organ-like sound that blends so well?

What a sound!

The principal flautist was in his own world at 1:00 during the cor anglais solo!

The opinions I express are my own.

Fantastic!
Is the sheet music for this arrangement available anywhere?

Seabreeze, I'm using a Mitchell Lurie crystal MP and White Master 3 or 3.5 on a Buffet RC Prestige.

Sylvain, the arrangement was written by the conductor (who plays doublebass in the orchestra) for the occation and is not published.

Time was, Americans were copying French clarinetists (Hamelin, Cahuzac, Bonade) because they liked their sound; next, it was copy some of the Germans (Leister, Meyer, Fuchs); I wonder if the time has now come to copy some of the Swedish clarinetists!

Keep sounding this good, and you can expect imitators.

Thanks for all very nice comments! The "rspoplay" is very new and the intention is to create a big library containing a great variety of projects, including orchestral- and chamber music, as well as jazz from our jazz series and children/family concerts. Clips are added every month.
One upcoming concert is Herbert Blomstedt's 60 years anniversary concert that was recorded last week:

Bach B-minor suite,
Beethoven's 1st Piano concerto and
Hindemith Mathis der Maler,

the same program as his debut concert with the orchestra in 1954.

Once again I want to recommend the spectacular Dollhouse Concert with Martin Fröst on page three!

Well, spectacular doesn't even begin to describe the "Dollhouse Concert." This presentation is amazing on so many different levels. I've liked Martin Frost since I first heard him, but I had no idea just how great he is. He is truly one of the best of the best musicians today. He is also quite a 'performance artist' as well.

In addition to just the intriguing music and the tremendous playing, the lighting and video production qualities are also without equal. I think back to all that Karajan had done in an attempt to make the audio/video performance something grand in itself, but I think if he were alive today he would be quite jealous of this grand achievement from your orchestra !!

BRAVISSIMO !!!!!!!
