Hello bboard, When I play the lowest 5th (E-B) very quietly the notes come out as though I am pressing the register key. Is the problem a leak. If so, why does it only happen when playing ever softly. It doesn't happen on a different clarinet with my setup. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

You probably have a small leak from some pad (anywhere on the instrument). Or your B/E key needs an adjustment?

Check the top joint G#/A key adjustment screw, make sure its not too tight, causing a leak.

Then run a leak test on both joints - top joint - seal the tenon against the palm of your hand, close all the keys, blow into the top - do you hear air hissing?

Then repeat with the bottom joint.
