I was at a friend's place today, and his teenage daughter was labouring at a first novel. It's aimed at a teen-young adult market ans is of the fantasy-adventure genre. She was looking for a convincing name for the arch-villain and hadn't come up with anything that sounded convincing. I threw a suggestion in the pot and to my amazement it was adopted enthusiastically. This is a little embarrassing, so look out for a first novel from a young Australian author with a villain with the sinister name of Prince Arundo Donax.

Typical clarinet players- we always make Arundo Donax look like the bad guy!
Good luck to your friend's daughter with her first novel.
