Don't miss the contrabass clarinet going crazy at 01:19:45. Is that you playing, Alphie?

What a treat this performance is....thanks for posting, Alphie. Is there any other clarinetist in the world that could duplicate Martin's flare and technique? Wow

I hope people on this board will take this opportunity to watch this unique concert with Martin. He has worked out this new concept of performing classical music with a theme, including dance, motion and magic. I think most of you will like it even if most of you don't understand Swedish.

Makes me wish I could understand Swedish though. What is the nature of his commentary?

It's not that important. He starts by saying he's gonna play the encores first, inspired by a 90+ years old violin player who used to say that otherwise he doesn't get to play them at all. He's going to improvise, but every time he's about to start he has something more to say. Funny or annoying? And so it goes on, plus some philosophical reflections about mumbling in his head, leading in to that double tongued B natural in the middle of the first kletzmer. For the rest, just listen to the music.
Hope this helps a little.

Wow- great concert! It's refreshing to see orchestral music being presented in a different way. Fröst is a phenomenal performer. Alphie, you sound great too! How did your orchestra enjoy working on this kind of project?

Liquorice, everybody thought it was a gas. A lot had to be played without a conductor so we had to trust our chamber music skills and rely on his choreography cues.

Well, I thought you all did brilliantly. Not all orchestral musicians are open to new formats like this. Well done to you and your band!

I also was quite impressed by the "conductorless" orchestra following all of those Frost cues. Also, I was remiss in not commending the performances of the two "walk on" clarinetists. Well done, my Swedish friends.
