Help me to identify this Penzel-Mueller? Selmer?

I am restoring a wooden clarinet which we got on "that auction site" and it has been sold as Penzel-Mueller Artist.

Here is some info:

- Bell is clearly marked as PM (eagle), Artist.
- Top joint at the top marked as USMC (so it is ex-marine corp)
- Barrel is not original, marked Henry Selmer, France
- Stamps on top/low joint are not readable
- Serial number is marked at the bottom of each joint (15xxx) and
it is consistent with PM # pre-WWII numbers
- Stamps on top/low joint are not readable, located where PM would put it
- Bell and body appears to be made from the same wood, color/texture.

SO seller had identified this as USMC PM Artist with non-original Selmer barrel.

While working on it we found following:
- the throat key is 4-post, and PM Artists with similar #s (both prior and after) had 3 post arrangements
- 4-post Artists are "New Artists" and had been made later, and they have alphanumeric serial #s on the side
- on lower joint pad size for 2 smaller pads differs from what other 4-post PM (Empire) has, 10.5mm, 11.5mm vs two 11mm
- other then that key work seem very similar
- while the markings on joints were intentionally erased it looks like it may have been marked as {BUNDY}. Under right light you can make out {,B and perhaps U and D on lower joint.
- top joint bore is consistent with Selmer BT (15mm), top/bottom (don't have info on Artists bores)

So what is it? early wooden Bundy which someone put PM bell on?
Who made it?
Was PM making stencils for Bundy, but then they sell left overs to mil contract?

Please help, thnx

Post a few pictures if you can. I have a rather large collection of P-M clarinets and can check to see if it matches any of them this evening. The fact that the upper joint has a USMC stamp on it suggests to me that it was made by an American company as I believe all of the contracts to supply US military bands went to American companies in those days.

The ~15mm bore is fairly typical for American-made clarinets from the period.

also the register vent looks to be consistent with PM products (thin metal insert). Not Selmer hex or other.

What was thoroughly erased may have looked very similar to this:
