Hi! Please help me identify the brand/model/year/value of my clarinet. My great-grandparents bought it for my father when he was in middle school (1955-59). I don't know if it was bought new or used, or where it was purchased.
Here are more specifics about mine: the only markings I see is the oval logo with Evette & Schaeffer on the inside top, Paris France on the inside center and bottom, Modele Buffet-Crampon on outside bottom…this logo is on the barrel, upper joint, and bell. The number B3361 is on the underside of the upper joint and lower joint. I see Made In France at the top of the bell. On closer inspection, I found the number 50 and letter F (F is underneath the 50) hidden under keys on the upper joint and lower joint. There are no other markings, such as Germany, master/cadet model, R. Malerne, sponsored by, etc..
Going through the characteristics found here http://www.woodwindforum.com/forums/showthread.php?1660-Attributes-to-assist-in-identifying-Clarinet-Make-Model-and-Age this is what I can make out of mine:
Upper joint – throat (A/Ab) keys have shared L post and with adjustable screw on top; (I think) trill keys are offset; there’s 3 posts on the trill keys; on the register key, vent is inset (it’s not raised); I can’t determine if C#/G# is flat or needle spring; and I think it’s wood bore (it’s definitely not metal liner). It is a black wood, except mouthpiece is plastic due to being replaced in 1987-88. I do not have original mouthpiece.
Lower joint – the left hand spatula keys have individual posts; and side keys uses a pin lifter mechanism.
I just began email communication with Steve Grover from http://www.eatonrapidsjunkbarn.com/reference/serialnumbers/BuffetCrampon.htm
If anyone can provide any information, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your time!

This was a student step-up instrument mae by Buffet. The Evette&Schaeffer horns were rather decent instruments. They a recurrently equivalent in standing to the Buffet E-series horns (E11, E12). If it is overall in good shape, it is a decent instrument.
