 Normandy Eb age

Hello all!

I did a search and found the long list of brands, serial numbers and relative ages.... however, a chart for Normandy Eb clarinets was not found by me (at least yet). Does anyone know what year a Normandy Eb clarinet would have been made with serial number 597X?

The source of all wisdom on Leblanc is the Clarinet Perfection site. Go to http://www.clarinetperfection.com/clsnLeblancNormandy.htm.

There was a bewildering variety of Normandy models with different serial number sequences. Your best bet is to match the trademark on your clarinet with the photos.

The Normandy E-flats used the same serial number sequence as Models 5, 5P, 6, 7, 14P, 140P, all iterations of the Models 8 and 10, and the second run of the Model 11.

While a definitive serial number list doesn't go down to the 5000 range, your clarinet was likely made in the mid-1950s.
