 Compay Segundo-clarinettist

It appears that Compay Segundo, the famous Cuban guitarist-singer of the Buena Vista Social Club, started out in music as a clarinettist. Has anybody ever heard a recording of him? The clarinet doesn't seem to have been used so much in Cuban popular music.

I listen to a lot of Cuban music (I have a Buena Vista Social Club channel on Pandora). I didn't know that Compay was a clarinettist, but I have noticed that his recordings frequently feature the clarinet. I don't normally think of the clarinet as typical Cuban instrumentation, but it's not unheard of in Cuban music.

Clarinets are apparently even more common in South American music. A former clarinet student of mine, who is a retired high school Spanish teacher, told me he was actually inspired to take up the clarinet from listening to the Colombian clarinettist/bandleader Lucho Bermudez.

I only recently heard of Lucho Bermudez. I haven't listened to any of his recordings yet, but a friend of mine raved about him and told me to listen...
