I need a favor. I have the Drapkin Bass book 1 and need to work on the Berg Violinkonzert. The problem is I have the 1st edition (1979) of this book and the Berg is in the wrong key. It's in the right key in the 2nd edition. Could someone email me a PDF of just this excerpt from the 2nd edition?

The book has it in C clarinet. Come on Dan, just transpose it. :-) I didn't realize he finally fixed it in a new edition. I have to the old one. Sorry about that.

Ed, I have the 1st ed. It's listed as Bb bass. So should that be C bass and don't change anything else? In the mean time I found the score on IMSLP and will check. I think it's called brain dead from summer.

If my memory is correct the answer is yes. It is all in the treble clef, the notes where copied from the score, which is in C. If my library people were not of vacation these few weeks I'd try to get you a copy sent to you unless it's a rental of course, I don't remember. Good luck.

I have a PDF of the score. It lists the bass clarinet in Bb. Now the question is, is the score in C or are the parts transposed? Since this is 20th century and Berg there is no key signature to help figure it out. I do have a recording of this so I'll check that.

Ok, just checked recording. In the score it's written in C so transpose for Bb bass.
