Author: Paul Aviles

Ok, according to my reading of the event schedule, the Clarinet Fest ended on the 28th of last month.

I understand some of you may still be jet lagged, but can we get some inside info soon ?!!!?

New clarinets (new Selmer)?

New mouthpieces?

Hot performances?

Wine recommendations?

I spent all five of the days at ClarinetFest and my blog, THE Clarinet Blog (the link listed in my signature), has a large page giving an overview of what I got to see. It was a very fun event in a fantastic location.

Shameless advertising that this is, please take a look at the blog, share it with your friends and "like" it on Facebook.

Among the thousand things I could say, I would like to mention the outstanding quality and enthusiasm of Italian clarinettists of all ages. Whether they played in humble wind bads or top orchestras, they all had a wonderful lyrical quality and fluidity to their playing. Obviously, they weren't the only good clarinettists there, but as they were our very gracious hosts, I would like to take my hat off to them.
