Ringless vs. Traditional

I'm looking to get a Backun 66mm Cocobolo barrel and I;d like to know the difference in sound between the traditional ones and the ringless ones. Thanks.
Abd, if anyone has any info on it, the sound difference between the grenadilla ones and the cocobolo ones.

I can't give you much info but I can tell you that I have a Buffet R13 clarinet and the barrel is grenadilla traditional (with rings) and it has a very good sound to it.

Your embouchure, voicing and way of blowing is 90%.
The bore of the barrel is 9%.
The wood is 1/2%.
The presence or absence of rings is 1/2%.

The moral: get a barrel with the correct bore shape for your clarinet and your way of playing. Then learn to play it.

But Ken, you forgot something. To reach the 110% level and capture that principal clarinet chair in the Chicago Symphony, you must have your keys Hamilton Plated. Or you are nobody.
