Selmer CT flat on throat tones

My Q series Centered Tone is flat on the throat tones from F to Bb- the standard 66mm barrel tunes OK in the rest of the registers. I'm thinking that a tapered barrel of some sort could improve this-- does anyone know of someone offering an off-the shelf barrel that can help here?

Chances are you will need a smaller barrel and pulling out the middle joint. A tapered barrel, most of them have some sort of taper, probably will not solve this problem. Also, could it be you, lowering your tongue too much in that register, not supporting enough or the mouthpiece you're using, it's at least a possibllty.

I suspect a mouthpiece mismatch; Vandoren "13" series mouthpieces and other "Chedeville-type" mouthpieces might have a larger chamber than others. Why don't you try several other moputhpieces to see if that doesn't help solve your problem.

Thanks for the responses- the mouthpiece is by Fred Rast and based on a Zinner blank. I'll check some of my old Selmer Mpcs for the intonation, although I prefer the sound of my Fred Rast piece . Maybe there's a clue somewhere...

If you adjust it so all notes are in tune relative to each other, what's the A (concert A)? 442 Hz?
