From time to time I run across these orange leather pads that are most commonly used on saxophones that I find on clarinets. They seem to last forever. Does anyone know who makes them and where i can get them. Thanks very much.

If you've removed any, there's usually a name printed on the backing cards which will identify them.
I personally like CLG leather pads, either tan (orange) or white - the colour doesn't make any odds as to how they perform.

There are many different leather pads. One manufacturer can have a huge variety. A manufacturer or distributor specifies the felt type, leather type, thickness, etc. Different permutations could have the same name on the back.
I'm in your area this weekend visiting my parents. If you know a few diameters I could bring you some samples.

If you're going for leather pads, go for firm ones instrad of squishy marshmallow-like ones as they'll offer more precise seating and regulation.
CLG pads are made by Glotin, but their website only shows double reed equipment (cane, thread, etc. for oboes and bassoons), but no links to their pads from what I can see. Have a look: <glotin.fr>
Also try MusicMedic as they do kangaroo skin pads which are either white or black, plus the standard tan leather ones.

Thanks Chris. I was on the Glotin site and did not see them so that is why I asked where to get them. i am currently using Ferrees white leather pads which are excellent. From time to time I get older instruments that have these orange leather pads that seem to hold up forever. They are the same as the orange sax pads and was wondering who were they made by. I always look for the makers name on the back but have never been able to find it.
Steve, Thanks for your offer but for now I will stay with Ferrees pads.

Glotin was bought up by Neuranter several years ago. As far as I know, the latter discontinued single-reed products, except for their own clarinet reeds which they were already making before they took over Glotin. At JL-clarinettes where I work, we've had pretty good luck with Rigotti leather pads that are made in the South of France.
