So I'm here in Austria with only a case for my Bb. I've been carrying around my A alongside my Bb case in a snug backpack. Not particularly safe for the A, but what can I do? Stick it in a bunch of socks? I don't want to have to buy an A or double case and then get rid of it before I fly back over to the States (in about three months). Are there any better solutions?

leave it assembled, wrap it in bubble wrap, and carry it in a map tube or piece of pvc pipe.

Another idea: un-assemble it, wrap each of the main pieces in bubble wrap. Use a large ZipLock bag for your mouthpiece, etc. etc. Place everything into a generic zippered carrying bag - with a name tag on it in case you leave it in the taxi!
I do this when travelling since it takes way less space in my carry-on... there are other things I want to take that have to be carried on.
